Barry Barnes

 

Barry recently completed filming the role of Simon in Nancy Harris' series THE DRY, Eoin MacNeill in docudrama STATE OF FLUX, and Tommy in the second series of SMOTHER.

 

Other recent screen credits include, the role of Sean O'Rourke in the TV3 drama THE BAILOUT directed by Conall Morrison. the role of Inspector Sheppard in the feature film THE BOOKSHOP directed by Isabel Coixet, the role of Inspector Seamus Joyce in PENANCE: AITHRÍ directed by Tom Collins, season 3 of THE FALL starring Jamie Dornan and Gillian Anderson, Yann Demange’s feature '71 alongside Jack O’Connell, Abú Media’s AN KLONDIKE directed by Dathaí Keane and the RTÉ series REBELLION.

A highly experienced stage actor, Barry has worked often with The Abbey Theatre, Druid Theatre Company, Rough Magic Theatre Co. and The Gaiety. His most recent theatre credits include the role of Lodovico in The Abbey Theatre's production of OTHELLO directed by Joe Dowling and the role of Mike in SIVE directed by Conall Morrison, also for the Abbey.

 

Barry is perhaps best-known for his role as Graham Turley, Veronica Guerin’s husband in the film starring Cate Blanchett, his role as Máirtín in the Oscar-nominated KINGS directed by Tom Collins, and as Tom in TG4's AIFRIC (seasons 1-3). He is also a highly accomplished voice-over artist and fluent Irish speaker.

 

Barry is based in Dublin.​
