Barry McKiernan

Barry is currently filming the role of Brian Scott in TV series AN IRISH CRIME STORY. He has just completed filming a role in the feature film DEAD HAPPY directed by Ruth Meehan and the role of Dr. Edward in A+E series MISS SCARLET & THE DUKE directed by Declan O'Dwyer. 


He was recently seen as Rosenstern in HAMLET directed by Yaël Farber at the Gate Theatre Dublin; a role he will reprise at St Ann's Warehouse in early 2020. He also recently reprised his role as Bren in Una McKevitt’s ALIEN DOCUMENTARY at the Harmonie Theatre, Leeuwarden in The Netherlands.


Last year Barry played the role of Gerry in DANCING AT LUGHNASA directed by Julie Kelleher for the Everyman Palace Theatre, as part of the Cork Midsummer Festival; the role of Hades in THE EURYDICE PROJECT, directed by Lee Wilson for Project Arts Centre Space Upstairs; ALIEN DOCUMENTARY directed by Una McKevitt at Project Arts Centre; and ANNA KARENINA directed by Wayne Jordan for the Abbey Theatre. He also recently filmed on THE WOMAN IN WHITE, directed by Carl Tibbetts for the BBC.

Barry holds a Bachelor in Acting degree from The Lír Academy at Trinity College Dublin (in partnership with RADA).
