
Carmel Stephens
Carmel is currently appearing in About Face Theatre’s world premiere of The Devil Himself at Smock Alley Theatre, Dublin.
Other recent theatre credits include Home, Part 1 at the Abbey Theatre and The Snapper at the Gate Theatre, Dublin.
Recent TV work includes Harry Wild (Acorn/RTE) and Madame Blanc (Channel 5).
Currently appearing in festivals is the short, Homofónia, in which she plays a lead role.
Carmel was part of the core cast of RTE’s flagship soap, Fair City for many years and also of the Irish Language soap, Rós na Rún (TG4).
She was a founding member of Inis Theatre Company and co-wrote and appeared in most of their shows, sharing the Best Actress award in the Dublin Fringe Festival.
She has twenty years experience as a dubbing artist and is particularly proud to be the Irish language voice of Sandy Cheeks in Spongebob Squarepants.
