Áine Ní Mhuirí

 

Áine has just completed filming on the role role of Monica in MO GHRA BUAN directed by Rachel Moriarty & Peter Murphy. She also recently featured in the award-winning short film IN ORBIT directed by Katie McNeice for Hardback Films.

 

Other recent screen credits include the role of Rita in BLOOD for Company Pictures/ Element Pictures, the role of Dolores in Elfar Adalstein's feature film END OF SENTENCE, the role of Father Michael's mother in the BBC drama BROKEN starring Sean Bean and Anna Friel, the role of Pat in REDWATER, also for the BBC, Agnes in the TG4 three-parter WRECKING THE RISING, Declan Reck's SCÚP, QUIRKE: CHRISTINE FALLS, John Crowley's feature BROOKLYN, in which she played the role of Mrs. Byrne and the regular role of Mrs. Taylor opposite Iain Glenn in the TV3 series JACK TAYLOR. 

 

Stage credits include the role of Hermia in the Abbey Theatre’s production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, directed by Gavin Quinn, the role of Ada in EMBERS, directed by Gavin Quinn for Pan Pan Theatre (with performances at BAM theatre, Brooklyn and the Edinburgh International Festival) A DOLL HOUSE, also directed by Gavin Quinn for Pan Pan, PHILADELPHIA, HERE I COME directed by Alan Stanford for Second Age Theatre Co. and the role of Maisie Madigan in The National Theatre's production of JUNO AND THE PAYCOCK, directed by Peter Gill. 

Áine is also an experienced voice-over artist. Some recent VO credits include THE HONEYSUCKLE SMASHER by Noel T Simspon, the role of May alongside Dawn Bradfield in Charlie McCarthy's A SWING FOR JELLY, directed by Aidan Mathews, the role of Ma in the RTÉ radio drama SERENITY, directed by Kevin Brew, and Miranda in the OSCAR NIGHT written by Alan McMonagle and produced by Goretti Slavin, all with RTÉ Radio Drama on One.

 

Áine received a CFT Excellence Award (USA) for her representation of Kathleen in the BBC’s BALLYKISSANGEL.
