Lauryn Canny
Lauryn most recently filmed the role of Teresa in BBC/Hulu series NORMAL PEOPLE directed by Lenny Abrahamson and the role of Sarah in feature film DATING AMBER directed by David Freyne.
Other recent credits include the roles of Katherine in the feature SOUNDS OF SILENCE directed by Elizabeth Blake-Thomas, Darlin’ in the feature film DARLIN’ directed by Pollyanna McIntosh, Rachel Mirada in the short film SALT WATER directed by Ajae Clearway, Olivia in the short film PEEL directed by Annika Cassidy, Kirsty in THE VON TRAPP FAMILY: A LIFE OF MUSIC with Matthew MacFadyen, the short film WIFEY REDUX alongside Aidan McArdle and Angeline Ball, RTE’s acclaimed 4 part mini series AMBER, directed by Thaddeus O’Sullivan, in which she played the title role, and the role of Steph opposite Juliette Binoche in A THOUSAND TIMES GOODNIGHT, which won the Grand Prix at the Montreal Film in 2013.
Lauryn also received an Amanda Film Award Nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film.
Lauryn has trained with The Gaiety School of Acting, and has also completed intensive singing lessons where she has been vocally trained. She has attended Performing Art Schools from a young age, where her studies focus primarily on drama & singing.
She is based between Dublin and Los Angeles.
